As a therapist and dog owner, I can definitely relate to the significance pets play in our lives and how traumatic the loss of a pet can be. In Freeda's book, as with all of them, she helps children cope with some of life's circumstances in an endearing way that kids can understand.

Super excited to add this book to my collection. This book by @freedathefrog is an excellent book to use during counseling sessions. It is hard for children to cope with grief. This book helps make it easier for children to process their emotions. I’m definitely looking forward to adding more of @freedathefrog books to my collection!

As a licensed therapist and school counselor, Freeda the Frog Books are a breath of fresh air. They help children with grief and loss by being stories that are relatable. One book in particular that I enjoy is Freeda the Frog Gets a Divorce. It has been such a wonderful experience reading these with my younger children and helps to normalize the feelings related to separation. I highly recommend this entire series to educators, parents and mental health professionals.

Thanks so much for the book! I will definitely use it in my practice with the kids. Good resources are so valuable and necessary. I will also pass on to my colleagues as well.

Thoroughly appropriate reading for children ages 5-6 as an introduction to LGBTQ+ families with children, "Freeda the Frog and the Two Mommas Next Door" by author/storyteller Nadine Haruni and artist/illustrator Tina Modugno is especially and unreservedly recommended for family, elementary school, and community library LGBTQ+ picture book collections for young children.
Freeda The Frog is an exceptionally well written set of books that teaches kids acceptance of various family issues, which can be both difficult and tumultuous for children. Additionally, this series fosters their overall awareness and ability to cope during these challenges. The author, Nadine Haruni, has done a wonderful job of creating child friendly language that conveys and builds an understanding of issues such as divorce, moving to a new school/town, and even the topic of various family structures such as stepfamilies, mixed race, religion, and ethnicity. I highly recommend this series and can attest to its effectiveness in helping children navigate through and cope with the challenges and hardships of what could be seen as highly turbulent life events.
-- Huma Imtiaz, School Psychologist in New York
The language and storyline fall within the standard practices for middle-grade reading. I also thoroughly enjoyed the story concept, sensing a reader would enjoy connecting dreams with characters from Ryan’s life and the empowerment and self-realization the story's experiences give him.

My daughter was thrilled when Freeda the Frog arrived! She related to the story so well and is excited to share with other friends who may be going through the same issues. The book has helped her deal with our current situation. We were able to connect to the story well.

This is a great book that teaches kids that while all families may not have the same make up, at the end of the day all families are about love. Nadine Haruni showcases this message in an easy to understand fun format that does not shy away from the differences but embraces them, all with trademark Freeda the Frog humor! This is a wonderful book that kids will enjoy, appreciate and learn valuable life lessons from. I couldn't recommend this book more and I look forward to the next book from this amazing author!
The Freeda series is beautifully written to do all the talking for you as a parent or guardian, especially around having difficult conversations with children.
